Call for nominations for election to CMLTO Council: CMLTO members get involved!

The CMLTO exists for the protection of the public’s right to safe, high-quality health care through self-regulation and leadership of the medical laboratory technology profession. The Council establishes CMLTO’s strategic direction and the outcomes that will lead self-regulation forward in the interest of public safety. The CMLTO invites MLTs to be part of this process. Bring your knowledge, skill and ability to Council and help shape the future.

The Council is calling for nominations for election in:
District 2 – Central West Region (Term: Jan 1, 2018 – Dec 31, 2020)
District 4 – Central East Region (Term: Jan 1, 2018 – Dec 31, 2020)

Elections for existing Council vacancies will also be held for the following districts:
District 6 – North East Region (Term: Date Elected – Dec 31, 2018)
District 7 – North West Region (Term: Date Elected – Dec 31, 2018)
District 8 – Member-at-Large (Term: Date Elected – Dec 31, 2019)

The deadline for election nomination forms to be received by the CMLTO is Friday, May 26, 2017, at 5:00 pm.

The Council has established selection criteria for nominations and appointments to increase understanding of the qualifications and expectations of Council Members and serve as a guide for candidates and for those who are nominating, and being nominated, for Council positions. Please note that the Call for Nominations will be published in FOCUS, Issue 1 of 2017, CMLTO’s member newsletter, which is an exclusively online publication. Reminder: All members are required to provide an email address to CMLTO, please ensure you have so that you don't miss any important communications. 
The Canadian Alliance of Medical Laboratory Professional Regulators (CAMLPR) and CSMLS are pleased to provide an update (English PDF, French PDF) on the progress for the recruitment of an accreditation service to replace the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) Accreditation Services.
CMLTO Registrar & CEO Kathy Wilkie is currently the CAMLPR Chair.
Please note that the CMLTO office will be closed on February 20, 2017, for the Family Day statutory holiday. Regular office hours will resume at 8:30 am on February 21st.
