Ontario’s medical laboratory technologists (MLTs) demonstrate their knowledge and expertise through the millions of medical tests they perform each year. The skill and judgment of these health care professionals contributes to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and medical conditions.

MLTs are one of Ontario's largest groups of regulated health care professionals. The MLT entry-to-practice requirements include graduation from an MLT education program accredited by the Canadian Medical Association, clinical experience, and successful completion of the national certification exam.
