Notice of Intention to Suspend

If a registrant fails to pay their annual registration renewal fee by December 31st , the Registrar & CEO will provide the registrant a notice of intention to suspend their certificate of registration. Thirty days (30) after notice is given, the Registrar & CEO may suspend the registrant's certificate of registration for failure to pay the required fees.

Suspension of Certificate of Registration
If a registrant's certificate of registration is suspended, the Registrar & CEO will notify the registrant and any employers by mail. Upon suspension, the certificate of registration expires, and the former registrant is no longer authorized to practise medical laboratory technology in Ontario. A permanent notation of the suspension will appear on the CMLTO's public register. Annually, CMLTO publishes a list of all suspended registrants in the FOCUS newsletter.

Reinstatement
A person whose certificate of registration was suspended may apply to the Registrar & CEO for reinstatement of their registration any time within three (3) years from the suspension date. If the suspension is not lifted within three (3) years, the certificate of registration shall be revoked.
